Hey! I’m Marisa, and this is me & my family…my husband Stephen and I with our pup Burchfield. We asked Abbott if HE would do a photo shoot with us and HE said they had better things to do like taking naps in sunspots and bird watching.
You can catch us waking up to the world sipping coffee with critters, dog walks, running errands, meeting up with friends and family, and finding beauty through hikes and travels (we’re a little obsessed with ferns and moss).
I am an animal lover, aspiring artist (I paint and draw in my spare time), art collector, gardener, Zen Buddhist, and pescatarian. People often tell me I am open-minded, accepting, calm and collective. That is the opposite of how I feel sometimes….I get nervous, excited and feel awkward, but if you think I am even keeled, I will take it.
I began photographing weddings in 2007 while in undergrad. It was just as I went through a separation and divorce, which was a interestingly strange time to start photographing weddings. I found being around these moments of love and joy to be healing and inspiring as I went through this season of my life. I continued to second shoot for 10 years and started photographing weddings under ‘MRP in 2016.
I have found that I love being part of others’ love stories and capturing them. I work well with people who are just as nervous and excited to be photographed and about their wedding day. I enjoy being around people who are genuinely down to earth, and hope you feel the same!
